Spanish Mackerel have bright silvery sides and back with yellow spots below the first two dorsal fins.
Spanish Mackerel have earned the nick name of "Boo-Hoo's", as they have sent many a frustrated angler home without a fish in the box.
Their keen eye sight requires very thin leaders and small spoons to catch them.
They are often seen splashing on the surface in late summer, completely uninterested in anything you put in front of them;
these are the ones that make anglers cry the most!
For those that do make it to the fish box, their white meat makes excellent table fare.
